Mission 

To educate highly motivated physicians in an ideal educational environment that fosters the highest quality, safest and most value-conscious care for women through all stages of life. 

Overall Education Goals 

  • To equip residents with the technical skills and knowledge base to practice evidence-based surgical and medical care for women. 
  • To provide a breadth of wellness experiences that facilitate personal growth, foster balance and mitigate physician burnout. 
  • To expose trainees to quality improvement, translational and population health science research to prepare them for critical review of the literature and for subspecialty training if desired.

Residents have protected time for conferences every Wednesday from Noon until 4 pm. Patient rounds and huddles occur on a daily basis. Residents participate in other specialty didactics during individual block rotations.

To address growing challenges in the residency application and interview process, the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) have proposed specialty-wide standards for the OB-GYN residency programs. 

 

Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center's (LHAAMC) Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program will follow these recommendations:

 

  1. The application deadline is September 25, 2024.
  2. Applications will only be accepted through ResidencyCAS.
  3. The number of interview invitations will be limited to the number of interview slots available and applicants will have at a minimum of 48 hours to respond to an invitation.
  4. Applicants who have not been offered an interview will be notified of their final status by November 27, 2024 (Interview, Wait-listed or Rejected).
  5. Interview offers will be released on October 29, 2024
  6. Interviews will begin November 1, 2024.

In addition to the Match policy Code of Conduct, the Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center (LHAAMC) OB/Gyn Residency Program would like to address our policy on a few common questions around what communication applicants should expect from our program.


Does LHAAMC accept pre-interview communication from, or on the behalf of, applicants?
Yes


If I don’t receive an interview invite on October 29, 2024, what should I do?
We follow the APGO/CREOG guidelines for best interview practices. We do maintain a waitlist and will notify all candidates of their final status by the final date as determined by APGO/CREOG each year.  


How will the Waitlist work and how will I be notified if I am Waitlisted?
All candidates who are offered an interview will be given 48 hours to respond. We will utilize our waitlist to fill any unfilled spots. Should any interview spots become available, an invitation will be sent via ResidencyCAS.  


Does LHAAMC accept thank you notes? 
Yes 


Does LHAAMC expect a thank you note from me? 
No 


Does LHAAMC accept post-interview communication from, or on the behalf of, applicants? 
Yes


Should an applicant expect post-interview communication from LHAAMC?
No. Unless you reach out with a specific question you should not expect any communication from LHAAMC after your interview.
