Dr. Dawood didn’t judge me or try to persuade me otherwise. He sympathized with me and made sure that my mind would be right for surgery. My surgery was a success! - Brandi
Heart Surgery
You Can Trust Us to Mend Your Broken Heart
The American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline® program awarded Luminis Health for outstanding performance and care when treating heart attack patients. We are one of only 25% of hospitals in the nation qualified to perform emergency cardiac catheterization.
The Maryland Institute of Emergency Medicine Services Systems designated Luminis Health a Certified Intervention Center for emergency heart attack care. This means we're the area's preferred hospital for heart attack care. If you call 911 for a heart attack, we provide life-saving angioplasty within 90 minutes. We exceed Maryland state standards for this care.
We offer a dedicated inpatient unit for people with heart conditions, as well as cardiac catheterization labs, a cardiovascular critical care unit and a cardiac rehabilitation center.
With advanced imaging, we can detect heart problems early and often treat them with minimally invasive procedures. That means small incisions, less pain and a quicker recovery for you.
We're dedicated to reducing the heart disease rate in the communities we serve. We offer more screenings and prevention programs in more locations than ever before.
Heart Surgery Treatments and Services
Heart surgeries are major surgeries—but you're in good hands. We're nationally recognized experts in both open and minimally invasive heart surgeries, such as:
- Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) for blocked arteries.
- Heart valve repair or replacement.
- Complex aortic surgeries and aortic aneurysm repair.
- Surgeries to correct arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat).
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
