Tasha began her career in maternal-child healthcare 19 years ago in Tucson, Arizona. She knew that Labor & Delivery was where she wanted to be despite being told that it was nearly impossible to get that type of job right out of nursing school. Tasha worked all over the United States as a Labor and Delivery Nurse prior to becoming a Certified Nurse Midwife in 2012. She received her undergraduate degree in nursing from Lincoln University, Missouri 2005 and her Master’s Degree in Nursing with a concentration in Nurse Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University in 2012.
Tasha has a strong desire to decrease the stigma around mental illness and the misinformation surrounding antidepressant use in pregnancy. She is internationally certified in perinatal mental health diagnosis and prescribing through Postpartum Support International. Tasha has a passion for learning and teaching and she never turns down an opportunity to precept students. Tasha plans to return to school to complete her Post-Master’s certification to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
Tasha is trained to do colposcopies and paracervical nerve blocks to help decrease pain associated with IUD insertions. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and fur babies Beaux & Gizmo, entertaining, cooking, reading and traveling.
