Monica Jones, MD, MSc, FACOG, FACS, is chair of Luminis Health Women’s and Children’s services, overseeing all inpatient and ambulatory departments and services within the service line.
Dr. Jones grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, attended medical school and completed her residency in OB/Gyn at the University of Cincinnati. After completing fellowship training in Gynecologic Oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, she spent 5 years on staff there before relocating to North Carolina and joining the Duke System. She relocated to Annapolis from Duke to assume the System Chair of Women’s and Children’s Services for Luminis Health.
Since moving to Maryland, Dr. Jones has provided community education and secured grant funding in the areas of decreasing maternal morbidity and mortality, HPV vaccination for the prevention of cervical cancer, Hereditary Gynecologic Cancers and strategies to eliminate racial disparities in maternal and infant mortality. She currently serves as Chair of the Birth Outcomes Accountability Taskforce of the Maryland Hospital Association and Co-Chairs Anne Arundel County Department of Health Maternal and Infatn Health Task Force.
As System Chair for Luminis Health Women's and Children's Services at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center and Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center, Dr. Jones works with her dyad partner, to define, and lead the strategic direction for the service line in its efforts to deliver high quality, high-value culturally customized care for the women and families of Anne Arundel, Prince George's and surrounding counties.
