Glen R Gibson, MD, is the Associate Director of the Division of Surgical Oncology at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Maryland. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Gibson attended Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. Following this, he completed his general surgical residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and his surgical oncology fellowship training at City of Hope in Pasadena California. He joined the faculty of Anne Arundel Medical Center in 2005 and has held an appointment as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Johns Hopkins, training the senior level Johns Hopkins surgery residents. Dr. Gibson is accredited in surgical oncology and general surgery. His clinical focus is a resection of intra-abdominal tumors involving the intestine and solid organs, resection of skin and soft tissue malignancies, and endocrine surgery. He places a strong emphasis on minimally invasive approaches to cancer surgery. Away from the operating room and his patient clinic, Dr. Gibson directs the general oncology multi-disciplinary tumor board, and serves as a member of the core teaching faculty of the Anne Arundel Medical Center surgical residency program. He has published several articles, and has given regional and national presentations covering broad variety of topics including melanoma, colorectal surgery, pancreatic cancer and breast cancer.
