Steven Woodward, MD is a fellowship-trained breast surgeon who joined Luminis Health in 2023. Dr. Woodward grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and graduated with honors from the University of Maryland at College Park. Volunteer mission trips to Nicaragua sparked an interest in medicine and he went on to attend the University of Maryland School of Medicine. During medical school, he won many awards for high academic achievement and graduated from the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his general surgery residency training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. During his time in residency, he won multiple teaching awards and earned a graduate degree in Human Clinical Investigation at Thomas Jefferson University. He completed a fellowship in surgical breast oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his surgical training, he presented his breast cancer treatment research at national conferences. He has had numerous publications in peer-reviewed academic journals and authored a textbook chapter on the aesthetics of breast surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgery and the Society of Surgical Oncology.
Dr. Woodward is board certified in general surgery and is certified by the American Society of Breast Surgery in breast ultrasonography. His clinical interests include oncoplastic and minimally invasive techniques to treat breast cancer, nipple sparing mastectomy, hidden scar surgery, and aesthetic flat closure.
