Ruchi Prasad grew up in Ottawa, Canada before moving to Dublin, Ireland to complete medical school at University College Dublin. After 5 years in Ireland, she then moved to Philadelphia to complete her residency in Internal Medicine at Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Health System followed by a Chief Resident year at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. She fell in love with teaching residents and joined full time faculty with MedStar Health Internal Medicine in Baltimore and as an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Georgetown University. She eventually became associate program director at MedStar Health IM, Baltimore with a focus on recruitment efforts. Most recently, she joined Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center’s Internal Medicine Residency Program where she serves as a core faculty member and Clinical Assistant Professor at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Dr. Prasad is also the LHAAMC Medical Director for Quality and Patient Safety and the Externship director in addition to continuing to enjoy teaching medical students and residents in both ambulatory and inpatient medicine. She has a passion for teaching high quality, efficient and patient centered care. When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two active sons visiting parks, travelling, and trying new recipes.
