Imad Tabbara, MD, FACP brings more than three decades of clinical experience with cancer patients, and holds board certifications by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Hematology, Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. Dr. Tabbara recently joined us as the leader of Hematology and Medical Oncology, and previously served as a fully tenured Professor of Medicine at George Washington University, School of Medicine. Dr. Tabbara has an extensive publication record in peer-reviewed journals, further committed to improving cancer care through his ongoing clinical research efforts. He is the principal investigator on numerous cancer clinical trials examining cutting-edge and novel approaches to cancer treatment. Dr. Tabbara is passionate about delivering high-quality cancer care to each of his patients, bringing his leadership and clinical skills to DCI and contributing to our multidisciplinary, comprehensive and patient-centered approach to cancer care.
Dr. Tabbara currently serves as the Section Chief of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Luminis Health and Clinical Professor of Medicine at George Washington University, as well as Program Director for the Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program. Prior to joining Luminis Health in January 2021, Dr. Tabbara was a tenured Professor of Medicine at George Washington University, the Director of the Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship Program, and the Director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program for more than two decades. He is recognized nationally as an expert in malignant hematology, has an extensive publication record in peer-reviewed journals, and has served as a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials.
