Sara Shaffer is retired from the U.S. Navy and joined Luminis Health in 2017. She fell in love with caring for mothers and babies since becoming a nurse in 1997 and has enjoyed being a Certified Nurse Midwife for the past 18 years. She currently serves as the Director for the Luminis Health Midwives and works primary on Labor and Delivery in the OB triage unit. She is one of the facilitators for Luminis Health’s Centering Pregnancy group prenatal care program and loves delivering prenatal care in this way. Her passion is being an advocate for women and families during their prenatal care and childbirth experiences, and she strives to help all families have a positive and satisfying experience within the Luminis Health Women's & Children’s Department.
