Barbara Mensah Onumah, MD

Barbara Onumah, MD, is a leading endocrinologist in the greater Annapolis region. With an extensive background in teaching — as faculty at Medstar Washington Hospital Center Endocrine Training Program and as assistant professor at Georgetown University Hospital — she brings a high level of skill and leadership to the team. Dr. Onumah is also widely published. With an interest in clinical research, particularly in the area of diabetes, she works hard to bring today’s most advanced treatments and technologies to AAMC. She’s also a member of the Endocrine Society and American Diabetes Association, were she’s able to influence decisions that affect the field of endocrinology as a whole. Dr. Onumah practices general endocrinology, specializing in insulin resistance and diabetes. She collaborates with primary care and other referring physicians on comprehensive and integrated treatment for patients with diabetes and other endocrine disorders.
