Pharmacy Residency Program

"PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year 2 (PGY2) pharmacy residency training."

Luminis Health - Anne Arundel Medical Center's (LHAAMC) Department of Pharmacy Services is excited to welcome its eighth class of pharmacy residents to the post-graduate year one (PGY1) practice residency for the 2024-2025 program year. This 12-month program is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and is designed to provide pharmacists with the necessary skills for both general and specialized clinical pharmacy practice.

Throughout the residency, residents will receive comprehensive training to deliver direct patient care across a wide range of inpatient and ambulatory clinical practice settings. The program offers valuable experiential learning opportunities in various pharmacy locations, including Acute Inpatient Care, Behavioral Health, Anticoagulation Clinic, Outpatient Infusion Center, and Ambulatory Transitions of Care.

These innovative practice areas present numerous chances for residents to gain hands-on experience in diverse fields such as cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, infectious disease, informatics, oncology, and psychiatry. By the end of the program, residents will be well-prepared to provide exceptional patient care in their chosen specialty areas.

The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency conducted by Luminis Health – Anne Arundel Medical Center is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).

The PGY1 residency program is a 12-month learning experience with two (2) positions available per year.
